Cyprus has accommodation in abundance and in a large variety.
The Cyprus
Tourism Organisation distinguishes six different classifications:
hotels, hotel apartments and tourist villas, tourist villages
and camping sites, tourist apartments and traditional houses/guesthouses.
Ayia Napa, Pafos and Lemesos (Limassol) offer many hotels
and hotel apartments. Most hotels and hotel apartments are
located on or near the beach and have their own swimming pools,
sport facilities and air conditioned rooms.
Obviously, the traditional guesthouses are to be found in
the villages, like Pano Panagia (the birth place of Archbishop
Makarios), Kathikas and those near or in the Troodos Mountains.
Instead of the international standards of luxury that hotels
are usually offering, there are other things to enjoy, like
getting in thouch with the local culture and experience Cypriot
