The cultural heritage of Cyprus is on display in the
many museums, archaeological sites, churches and cultural
centres around the island. Only in the main cities -
Nicosia, Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca and Ayia Napa are
40 cultural institutions. Most of them are open all
year round except for Christmas Day, New Year's Day
and Easter Sunday. Opening times can change so it's
advisable to check before your visit. You can find the
phone numbers of the museum and other cultural institutions
in our museum listings.
Entrance fees vary between free to CY £ 1,50
per person. On the 1st of April admission is free to
all visitors, State museums are free to Cypriot citizens
and schoolchildren escorted by their teachers. The Department
of Antiques can issue special entry cards (CY £
2,50 for one day or CY £ 5,00 for a period of
7 days).
